Fisherman from all over Middle TN participate in the event by bringing their boats and taking out the children for a special day of catch and release. After fishing, the children and volunteers return for a wonderful picnic lunch and an awards program. Each child receives a C.A.T.C.H. T - shirt, a special certificate from the Corps, a fishing trophy and their very own fishing rod and reel and fishing gear.

C.A.T.C.H. - Caring Adults touching children's hearts

“Caring Adults Touching Children’s Hearts”  Fishing Day is a joint event held each September. Working with a local fishermen, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the TN Wildlife Resources Agency, Lighthouse Christian Camp selects children to come out and enjoy a morning of fishing on Center Hill Lake. Each year thirty (30) boats and experienced, dedicated drivers with fishing tackle, are needed to each take (2) children and a camp counselor out on the lake fishing for 2 1/2 hours. Sixty (60) excited children attend and many get the opportunity to go fishing for the first time.

Receive a blessing by planning to participate in this annual event each September, either by volunteering with your boat/fishing tackle, donating new fishing gear or if you would like, make a donation for the purchase of new fishing gear.
