Yes, "homework" has to be done!
Each school year Lighthouse Christian Camp staff and volunteers select and invite local camp attendees who have made decisions for Christ to participate in the camp's “After-School-Club” program. Qualified campers who live within the camp's school district (appx 60-80) are picked up by the Lighthouse bus at their schools. Each Tuesday afternoon that school is in session, the children are brought to the camp and divided into gender and age groups for program activities including times for completion and review of homework, snacks, activities, scripture verse memorization, prayer and Bible study. At the end of each program semester (Fall and Spring), children enrolled in the program are rewarded with a celebration day-long-field trip for successful participation.
The purpose of this program is to teach and disciple these young Christians on how to represent Jesus Christ well in their everyday lives.
