WILL YOU ALLOW GOD TO USE YOU IN OUR MINISTRY?
“Would you consider coming for a week as a counselor this summer”? Many men, women and children have been so faithful over the years to come and serve in performing new construction , maintenance, Christmas party volunteers and more. Many of these same men and women (especially the men) are petrified when we ask that dreaded question… “Will you come and serve as a counselor”? This is usually followed by a nervous question of “what do you mean like in a cabin, with kids?” to which we reply, “Yes”. To which they usually reply “But I’m not trained to be a counselor!”
According to Webster's dictionary a counselor is defined as a person who gives advice or has supervisory duties at camp. Our definition for counselor at Lighthouse is a person who gives advice according to the Word of God, is a good listener, and demonstrates through their own life that they love the Lord Jesus Christ.
Truly our need is for Christian men and women who love Jesus and who want children to come to know and love Him as well. NO SPECIAL TRAINING IS NEEDED! If you’ve not considered serving, we pray you will. Women are needed for a minimum one-week commitments beginning June 4th throughout the month of June.
